It’s been 5 years after my first Summerslam, and hopefully this will be my 6th. This year’s Summerslam will be headlined by Darkest Hour and along with them are Mahatma, King Lychee, The Jumping Jacks, and Rex. It also features the variety of upcoming and established bands in the country.

I wrote down some pointers on “How to Survive in a Summerslam”.

Equipments:

- Ticket: the most important item
A ticket may cost you around 300 pesos (i forgot the price) but this will be the most important item to survive. In the last 4 Summerslams each ticket has a coupon for a free slice of pizza, a bottle of pepsi, a large cup of beer, and a P50 discount on PULP Summerslam shirt (which i never got to wear because of the size).

- Shoes:
A good pair shoes are recommended especially if you are going into the mosh pits.

- Lighter and Cigarettes:
It is prohibited to bring in a lighter in the venue. If you plan to bring one better hide it where the sun doesn’t shine. They usually confiscate the lighters but not the cigars.

If you have all these, I’ll bet you will survive the chaos that will happen during Summerslam.

Another thing:
Just stay away from the flying plastic bottles especially the ones with warm yellow liquid on it. hehehehe!
