Dream Match on SopCast

Being too cheap to spend 300-700 pesos to watch Pacquiao – Dela Hoya bout live on the big screen. I found an alternative to view the event live and free. It started out as our form of entertainment in my old workplace – Yes, we were using TVU player to be our television while at work. But having found out that TVU has no available stream of the FIBA-ASIA Olympics qualifier that happened more than a year ago, we discovered SOPCAST. It wasn’t a big deal until the rubber match between Pacquiao and Morales, SOPCAST was put in a very big use – on local free TV the ads were to much. Ads took almost or at least 10 minutes in between rounds. The stream on SOPCAST’s MMA-TV was credibly live, it all depends on the speed of your internet connection. Pacquiao – Dela Hoya match today was very special. My connection did not gave me any problems (no frequent RTOs and disconnections).

For future references, here is a quick guide on how to setup SOPCAST in your machine:

  1. Download SopCast here.
  2. Unzip and Install.
  3. Open SopCast.
  4. Tick “Login As Anonymous” checkbox and click login.
  5. Click on Live Channels tab.
  6. Click on any Channel you want to watch and enjoy. (bonus tip: enter “24267″ at SopCast’s address bar to go directly to MMA-TV – this channel usually streams big boxing events and UFC pay-per-views)
